Local News in Brief : Countywide : Stepfamilies to Be Topic of Workshop Set at OCC
A two-part workshop on stresses and the types of adjustments affecting stepfamilies will be discussed April 11 and 18 at Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa.
The seminar, entitled “Answers for Stepfamilies,” will be conducted by Nancee Noel Kempler, a licensed marriage, family and child counselor. Kempler also is a past president of the Orange County chapter of the Stepfamily Assn. of America.
“Most people are not prepared for the situations and problems that a new stepfamily presents,” Kempler said. Success of the newly formed family depends on “a willingness to search for new solutions,” she added.
Cost of the workshop, which runs 7 to 10 p.m. on successive Tuesdays, is $29 per person or $44 per couple. To obtain more information, call (714) 432-5880.
