Walesa Plans Visit to Thank Dutch for Help
Poland’s Solidarity union leader Lech Walesa will visit the Netherlands in May to thank a relief group that helped the port city of Gdansk.
Spokesman Chris Walop of the group based in the Rotterdam suburb of Overschie said Walesa will visit the Netherlands during a tour that will also take him to the United States. No date has been set.
The relief group Overschie Helps Poland has provided millions of dollars in food, clothing, and medical equipment since 1982 and is helping to support an orphanage in Gdansk, Walop said.
