British Queen Worth King’s Ransom

LONDON —
Old money still dominates Britain, according to a survey published Sunday that shows Queen Elizabeth is still by far the richest person in the country with assets of $8.9 billion.
Although the number of millionaires has risen from 5,000 to 20,000 in the last five years, the study of the richest 200 people in Britain showed more than half inherited their wealth, the Sunday Times said. Only 86 of the 200 made their fortunes themselves.
