Japanese to Tax Trades of Financial Futures
TOKYO —
Finance Minister Tatsuo Murayama told parliament that the government will impose a tax on trading in the financial futures market, effective April 1, 1990.
The financial futures market, in which banks and securities firms will take part in futures contracts trading in the Japanese currency, three-month Euroyen rates and three-month Eurodollar rates, is scheduled to open in June.
