Wine Operations Bought: BSN S.A. of France, one of Europe’s largest food and beverage conglomerates with sales of $7 billion a year, said it had acquired a majority interest in Scharffenberger Cellars Inc. of Mendocino County, a sparkling wine operation. The deal was valued by an industry source at $2.5 million. BSN owns Dannon yogurt, Kronenbourg beer, Evian mineral water and two French Champagne companies, Pommery and Lanson. In the United States, BSN also owns Mother’s Cookies.
