Weddings Can Injure People, Officials Decide

OKLAHOMA CITY —
It’s just not safe anymore to get married, and Oklahoma County commissioners are doing something about it.
The commissioners voted Monday to ban a traditional wedding practice--the throwing of such things as rice and confetti--in the vicinity of the county courthouse.
Commissioner F. G. Buchanan said the policy was adopted as a safety measure.
