F.Y.I: There are 2,400 real estate offices in Orange County, according to Contacts Influential, a marketing information company that publishes a list of businesses in the county.

Is that a lot? Well, assume for a moment that each office has three real estate agents--on the whole, a conservative estimate. With approximately 800,000 single-family houses in the county, that’s one real estate office for every 333 houses, and one real estate agent for every 111 homes.

By way of perspective, there are about the same number of doctors’ offices in the county as there are real estate offices.
