Bobby Schwartz Wins Speedway Scratch Main

Bobby Schwartz of Costa Mesa won the four-lap scratch main event Friday in front of 5,734 in the weekly speedway program at the Orange County Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa.

Greg Hancock of Costa Mesa led the race for two laps, but lost control on the third lap and finished fourth.

Alan Christian of Murietta was second and Phil Collins of Manchester, England, third.

Hancock won the eight-lap handicap main event. Gary Hicks of Glen Avon was second, Mike Faria of Riverside was third and Collins fourth.
