Pilgrim, a six-member Moscow-based rock band, has asked for political asylum in Italy after playing a series of concerts to raise money for Armenian earthquake relief. Police said the group’s request would be considered by Italian authorities within the next few days. The five men and one woman, aged 20 to 23, asked for asylum at Malpensa airport, north of Milan, just before they were to board a plane back to the Soviet Union.
