The World : Radio Bomb Kills Officer

Share

A West German police officer was killed and another injured as experts tried to defuse a radio bomb confiscated from suspected Palestinian terrorists. The bomb exploded at federal police headquarters in Wiesbaden, officials said. A similar bomb disguised as a radio is believed to have caused the explosion that blew Pan Am Flight 103 out of the sky Dec. 21 over Scotland, killing 270 people. An identical radio bomb containing plastic explosives and an air pressure-sensitive detonator was seized during an October raid on suspected Palestinian terrorists in the German city of Neuss.
