America Thatcher, 81, whose father named his seven other daughters Liberty, Equality, Justice, Peace, Light, Fraternity and Fidelity. Her father was Puerto Rico Resident Commissioner Santiago Iglesias, who made “Ripley’s Believe It or Not” by giving his daughters their unusual names. Mrs. Thatcher worked as a crypto-analyst during World War II with the Office of Special Services, predecessor of the Central Intelligence Agency.
