East Germany Begins Unilateral Troop Cuts

GOLDBERG, East Germany —
East Germany began implementing unilateral cuts in its armed forces today by disbanding part of a tank regiment that stood guard when the Berlin Wall was built in 1961.
Foreign reporters watched 127 conscripts being demobilized from the 8th Tank Regiment and reunited with their families.
