MEXICO CITY —
A moderate earthquake shook the states of Mexico and Guerrero in the predawn hours today, frightening people but causing no casualties or damage, officials said.
The quake measured 5 on the Richter scale. It was centered about 62 miles northeast of the Pacific Coast resort of Acapulco in Guerrero state, the National University’s Geophysical Institute in Mexico City said. It said the temblor could be felt in Mexico City, where a large quake with a magnitude of 6.8 caused panic a week ago.
