Gun-Control Legislation

Share

After reading the letters from Charlton Heston and Dave Culver about a citizen’s right to keep and bear arms as guaranteed by the Second Amendment, I know I shall sleep better from now on knowing that they and more militiamen like them are prepared to defend our frontiers against attacks by murderous intruders.

I have always been under the impression that the Second Amendment, conceived in the late 18th Century, was designed to assure protection by a well-regulated militia in the absence of an organized military or police force. I am greatly relieved to know that Heston and Culver are alert and ready to do their duty as militiamen to protect me and other unarmed Americans against intrusion by savage Indians--or whomever.

Incidentally, I turned in my .45 at the end of World War II thus saving some beleaguered supply sergeant from having to process a Report of Survey to account for its not being in his inventory.
