Catch-22 With Mammograms

Share

While it is commendable that a woman who could not otherwise afford one can have a mammogram at a “reasonable” price (“High Cost of Victory” by Gary Libman, April 25), what will she do if a tumor is detected?

If she could not afford such an examination at the regular rates and carries no medical insurance, how will she afford the treatment indicated by the test? Further, once the tumor is detected, her chances of buying affordable health insurance will be reduced dramatically.

Is this Catch-22 or what?
