Costa Mesa : 2 Men in Car Rob Bike Rider of $200
Two men in an automobile assaulted a bicycle rider and robbed him of $200 early Sunday, police reported.
Sgt. Neil Leveratt said the victim was Jesus Torres, 27, of Santa Ana, who was riding his bike to his job about 4:15 a.m.
As Torres reached the intersection of Baker and Red Hill streets, a white Volkswagen drove up by him and stopped, Leveratt said. Two men in the vehicle jumped out, hit Torres in the chest with their fists and seized his billfold, containing the $200.
Leveratt said the suspects got back in the car and fled. Torres was not seriously injured.
