Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. announced the retirement of John J. Creedon, president and chief executive and a 47-year veteran of the company. Creedon will step down Sept. 1. Met Life has a mandatory retirement policy for certain high-level executives once they reach 65. Chairman Robert G. Schwartz will assume the additional responsibilities of president and chief executive.
