Sears, Roebuck & Co. announced that Wayne E. Hedien has been named chairman and chief executive of the Chicago company’s Allstate Insurance Group, effective July 1. Hedien is Allstate’s president. At the same time, Raymond H. Kiefer was named president of Allstate Insurance Co. He had previously been president of its personal property and casualty unit. Hedien succeeds Richard J. Haayen, who announced his retirement, after more than 37 years with Allstate, effective June 30, when he becomes 65.
