Drier Weather on the Way After Clouds, Light Drizzle

Share

It barely drizzled enough to wet the ground Monday in Orange County, and drier weather is on the way, according to forecasters.

The wettest spot in the county was .01 inch of rainfall in El Toro, according to WeatherData Inc., which provides forecasts for The Times. San Juan Capistrano reported a trace of rainfall, “which means it wet the ground but was less than one-hundredth of an inch,” WeatherData meteorologist Rick Dittmann said.

There were plenty of dark clouds, but no puddles to show for it elsewhere in the county, according to WeatherData.

Santa Ana had a high temperature of 67 degrees Monday, up from an overnight low of 57 degrees. Highs elsewhere were 65 degrees in San Juan Capistrano, 63 in Fullerton, 62 in Newport Beach and 61 in El Toro.

Dittmann said some clouds should remain today, accompanied by breezes, with high temperatures in the middle 60s to low 70s. Overnight low temperatures will be in the mid-40s to mid-50s, he said.

Wednesday should bring warmer temperatures, in the mid-60s and 70s, and sunshine, Dittmann said.

While Orange County saw nothing more than mist Monday, .22 of an inch of rain fell on Mt. Wilson and dark clouds delivered nearly half an inch of moisture in Beaumont, according to WeatherData.
