Council Extends Development Ban
The City Council on Tuesday unanimously voted to extend a 45-day moratorium on residential developments of more than 18 units per acre or those with underground parking.
The ban, imposed in April amid concerns about building density, will continue for 10 months and 15 days while the city decides if a permanent ordinance should be adopted.
The building limit had been 24 residential units per acre on R-3 lots, said City Manager Karl Koski, but the city was concerned that builders were increasingly using underground parking to save space.
