A Korean-American businessman was convicted Friday of conspiring to export deadly nerve gas bombs to Iran.

The jury, however, acquitted Juwhan Yun, 48, of Short Hills of attempting to send 500 quarter-ton bombs of the nerve gas overseas. No such gas was in Yun’s possession, but he discussed the deal with an undercover agent.

U.S. District Judge H. Lee Sarokin set sentencing for July 13. Yun could receive up to five years in prison. Yun’s attorney, Stephen Dratch, said he would ask Sarokin to set the guilty verdict aside.

Yun said he had no intention of shipping anything illegal and only discussed the illegal deals to secure legal ammunition.
