Dr. John LaRosa, chairman of the group’s nutrition committee, said the panel reached its egg decision “in view of new information from the Department of Agriculture indicating lower cholesterol content in egg yolks.” “This viewpoint does not represent a change in the AHA’s dietary guidelines--the nutrition committee still recommends a maximum of 300 milligrams of dietary cholesterol a day,” said LaRosa, dean of clinical affairs at the George Washington University medical center.
