Having a barbecue on your patio? Arrange pots of colorful, flowering annuals in the area to enhance the setting.

Impatiens are perfect for the semi-shady areas of your lawn and garden. Their bloom is bright, and they also do well in containers.

Be careful when cultivating around shallow-rooted plants, such as camellias and fuchsias, because this could damage the root system.

Need some ground cover for a bare spot? Consider the ornamental strawberry for attractive foliage.

Plants that need stakes when they mature should be staked at the time they are planted to avoid damaging roots at a later time.
