Tear Gas Used on Student Protesters

BELGRADE, Yugoslavia — Police fired tear gas on several hundred ethnic Albanian students in the Yugoslav province of Kosovo as nationalist protesters took over a university campus for the second evening, authorities said Thursday.
Witnesses said that 300 to 400 students occupied the campus at Pristina University in Kosovo’s capital, shouting Albanian nationalist slogans and jeering dozens of police officers.
