Comments on Letter About Jury Duty

Share

I found Judy Perry’s elitist commentary (Letters, May 28) on jury duty to be both ignorant and offensive. Her implication is that a jury of peers should be made up of those who bring reading material for the wait and who are cosmetically what Ms. Perry would approve of (although, to use her examples, it has never been shown that amount of teeth or style of clothing make any impact on reasoning capacity).

Neither quality is as important as a sincere desire as a juror to be open-minded--exactly what Perry demonstrates that she is not.

Thank God that someone as quick to judge others on first appearance as Perry was not selected for jury service.
