The Ecological Challenge

I was one of the 3,000 who gathered at the Bonaventure Hotel for the symposium “Our Common Future: Healing the Planet.” Embracing environmental and other quality-of-life concerns, recognizing the funds needed to address these concerns must come from the defense budget and understanding more deeply than ever before how interconnected we are motivates me to reach out to your readers.

We are devastating our planet and the time has come for action. The time has come to change our personal way of relating to the Earth and to each other. The time has come to send a clear message to the current Administration and Congress supporting clean air legislation and opposing oil development on the Arctic Refuge coastal plain.
