Colombian cyclist Leonel Correa was disqualified from the Milk Race today after failing to report for a drug test.

Correa’s team manager, Hector Mayuorga, said that because of language difficulties, he was not informed that Correa had been called for testing.

Officials of the around-Britain race said Correa, 93rd after Tuesday’s eighth stage, was one of six riders called to attend the routine medical control for doping following the stage from Preston to Harrogate. Correa, however, traveled to his team’s overnight hotel in York instead. After waiting for two hours for Correa to appear, the race officials disqualified him from the rest of the race and said he faced an automatic three-month suspension from competition.
