A tornado hit a Texas elementary school, injuring a child, and flooding forced residents of an Oklahoma city to evacuate as thunderstorms brought heavy rainfall and hail to the two states. In Coppell, Tex., northwest of Dallas, a twister struck an elementary school and two businesses, and a child suffered bruises and cuts from flying glass. A tornado in Clyde, in north-central Texas, destroyed two barns and a trailer, but no injuries were reported. In Oklahoma, lightning struck an oil storage tank in Yukon, sparking a fire that destroyed a second tank. In Shawnee, up to 10 families evacuated their homes as the Canadian River overflowed.
