American Execs Worried About Personnel: American executives are more worried about the availability of qualified employees than are executives in Japan, Western Europe or Latin America, according to a survey. About 12% of the Americans identified the availability of qualified employees as one of the top three threats to their businesses, compared to fewer than 5% who thought it was one of the three most favorable factors, the survey said. In contrast, more than 9% of Japanese companies saw the personnel issue as one of the three most favorable factors, and just 3% saw it as one of the top three threats. The survey, “Reinventing the CEO,” was by the executive search firm of Korn-Ferry International and Columbia University’s Graduate School of Business. It included 1,508 chief executives and senior executives.
