Kurt Steinmann of Switzerland won the 112-mile leg of the Tour of Switzerland road cycling race, but countryman Beat Breu retained the overall leader’s yellow jersey.
Steinmann finished the segment in 5 hours 33 minutes 31 seconds for an average speed of 22.7 m.p.h.
Spain’s Miguel Indurain was second and Breu, a climbing specialist, third, both about 40 seconds behind.
