P.M. BRIEFING : Marriott May Shift Catering Unit

WASHINGTON — Marriott Corp. today confirmed it is discussing the possible transfer of its airline catering division, Marriott In-Flite Services, to a group of investors led by the division’s senior management.
Under the proposal, Marriott would have a continuing financial interest in the business. Marriott spokesman Robert T. Souers said the company is not disclosing the magnitude of its intended financial interest or a price for the transfer.
In-Flite Services division had revenues of approximately $800 million in fiscal 1988.
