Free Day Camp for Youths Will Begin at Compton College

A free summer day camp for disadvantaged youths ages 10 to 16 will begin Monday and run through Aug. 4 at Compton Community College, 1111 E. Artesia Blvd.

The camp, which will be open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, includes free breakfast and lunch along with sports and field trips. This year’s program also will include anti-drug education. There are openings for 450 campers, and bus transportation from local parks will be available.

To participate, campers must provide a birth certificate to verify age and take a free physical exam Saturday at the college.
