U.S. Supreme Court Upholds Flag Burning as Protest
- Share via
The American people hold our flag in great reverence. The flag is dear to us.
The recent flag-burning decision misses the point we are attempting to teach our youngsters. It seems to us that flag burning has nothing to do with the First Amendment and freedom of speech. The flag, in and of itself, is a banner and a beloved symbol of the United States of America, which shall not and cannot be desecrated with reckless impunity.
The Supreme Court members did a great disservice to our nation with their decision, now and for generations to come.
