A man convicted of firing five shots into the head of a rookie police officer allegedly on behalf of a jailed drug lord was sentenced to a maximum 25-years-to-life term in prison. David McClary, 23, received the sentence from Judge Thomas Demakos at state court in Queens, where he was convicted June 6 of murder in the shooting of officer Edward Byrne. A concurrent 5- to 15-year term on a weapons charge was also handed down.
