Accused Boston Sniper Not Fit to Stand Trial
From Associated Press
SALEM, Mass. — A man accused of killing his wife and then commandeering an airplane and firing an assault rifle onto Boston streets from the air was judged incompetent to stand trial for murder.
Brockton District Court Judge Charles E. Black made the ruling Wednesday after reviewing a psychiatrist’s evaluation, a district attorney’s spokesman said.
Alfred Hunter, 42, was committed to Bridgewater State Hospital for up to six months. Another competency hearing may be scheduled at that time.
