Education in California

Share

The independent Sheenway School’s struggle for existence was featured alongside an article announcing salary increases for Los Angeles school administrators. Their substantial compensation and benefit package has been justified by some who liken public school administrators to corporate managers. Any corporation with a performance record comparable to LAUSD’s, however, would have gone bankrupt long ago.

Parents of Sheenway students make financial sacrifices to avoid an inferior public school system which they are forced to support through their taxes. What an injustice! They, and all other parents in California, should be given vouchers for tuition at the public or private school of their choice. Such a plan would help good schools like Sheenway become even better.
