Michael Eigner, who has been vice president/station manager at KTLA Channel 5 since 1983, is heading east. On Aug. 7, he will become executive president and general manager of WPIX-TV in New York City. Both are Tribune Broadcasting stations. Eigner, 44, started with KTLA in 1974 as the New York-based national sales manager. His replacement here has not yet been named. “I don’t want to leave California, but I’m looking forward to the new job,” Eigner said Monday.
