Brigitte Bardot, the ‘60s siren turned animal rights activist, has been accused of having her neighbor’s donkey castrated because it was getting too friendly with her own donkey. Industrialist Jean-Pierre Manivet, who lives next door to the French star’s exclusive resort home in St. Tropez, told reporters his donkey, Charly, had been castrated while Bardot was looking after it for him. Charly had apparently made advances to Bardot’s donkey, Mimosa. Manivet said he will take legal action against Bardot because she now refuses to return his donkey. He said his gardener told him there were obvious physiological signs that Charly had been castrated. The reclusive Bardot has become France’s best known defender of animal rights.
