NATION : IRS Seizes James Brown’s Money

COLUMBIA, S.C. —
Soul singer James Brown, already in trouble for having an unauthorized $40,000 in his prison cell, has lost the money to the Internal Revenue Service, corrections officials said today.
The IRS seized $40,000 in certified checks and almost $600 cash to pay for back taxes he owes, Corrections Department spokesman Francis X. Archibald said.
