West Germany scored a clear-cut victory in the Grand Prix des Nations show jumping competition today to snap the Americans’ winning streak in the $148,000 Stockholm International Horse Show.

But the second-place American quartet, including Thursday’s individual winner, Katie Prudent Monahan of Middleburg, Va., kept the overall lead in the eight-month series that started in April.

The U.S. team had won two other major competitions earlier in the five-day show that is a dress rehearsal for next year’s inaugural World Equestrian Games.
