VIENNA —
Banned Czechoslovak playwright Vaclav Havel was detained Wednesday in Prague while en route to the West German Embassy to have lunch with the ambassador, dissident sources and an embassy spokesman said.
It was the second day in a row that the human rights activist was picked up by police. He was detained for about three hours by police Tuesday.
Sources in Prague reached by telephone from Vienna said they did not know whether he had been released again.
