The Israeli Supreme Court ruled that the army can destroy the homes of Palestinians suspected of anti-Israeli activities even if they are rented. The decision came four days after a Supreme Court ruling that the army must give Palestinians an opportunity to appeal before destroying their homes. Israeli forces have blown up or torn down at least 225 houses in the occupied territories since the start of the Palestinian uprising against Israeli rule 19 months ago. The United States and international human rights groups have called for an end to the practice. In the occupied West Bank and Gaza Strip, meanwhile, 13 Arabs were shot and wounded in stone-throwing clashes with troops, hospitals reported.
