Thomas C. Benson has been appointed vice president of service and customer management, a newly expanded division of Mitsubishi Motor Sales of America Inc. Benson was formerly vice president of corporate service. He joined the Cypress-based company in 1981, the first year of operations. Before that, Benson was director of consumer support for Nissan Motor Corp., and held various managerial positions during his 13 years with Chrysler Corp. Mitsubishi is the U.S. distributor of cars and light trucks manufactured by Tokyo-based Mitsubishi Motors Corp.
