A Stop for Breakfast Cooks Man’s Goose

An aroma of bacon and eggs led to the arrest of the cook, who was at the stove but not in his own house.

Sgt. Mike Barton said Mike Richardson, 25, was being sought by Florida and Alabama state police on a stolen car charge when he apparently left Interstate 10 for breakfast Wednesday in Mobile.

Residents of the house called police when they awoke at 1:45 a.m., smelling breakfast.

Richardson was treated for a hand injury he suffered when officers interrupted his breakfast. He was charged with burglary and assault.
