STATE : Minister Who Alleged Attacks Quits

SAN FRANCISCO — A lesbian minister who said she was attacked by two homophobic “skinheads” abruptly resigned today amid speculation that she fabricated that and another report.
Lynn Griffis, 27, assistant pastor at the Metropolitan Community Church, claimed that on July 28 she was dragged into a car by two skinheads who beat her and threatened to kill her because she was a lesbian who helped AIDS victims.
Two weeks before, Griffis reported being attacked in her home for the same reasons by an intruder with a shovel.
