“The Lawrence Welk Show” left TV in 1982, but Champagne Music accordionist Myron Floren is still out there making music--including the polka kind.

In fact, Floren was recently inducted into the Polka Hall of Fame at the 12th annual International Polka Fest in Chisholm, Minn.--only the second accordionist, after legendary Frankie Yankovic, to be so honored.

Floren, who was with Welk for 32 years--but refuses to divulge his age--still plays more than 150 dates a year. He told us his favorite polka is “Roll Out the Barrel.”

He begins a Disneyland gig today with his 13-piece band, scheduled through Aug. 12--but doesn’t think his induction into the Polka Hall of Fame will affect his career.

“It’s a little late for that,” he said.
