Carl Lewis started his second European summer tour of the year with an easy 10.13-second win in the 100 meters Floyd Heard upset Olympic champion Joe DeLoach in the 200. Heard’s time was 20.59 seconds to DeLoach’s 20.74.

Butch Reynolds caught Danny Everett in the last 20 meters and held on to win the 400 meters in 44.32, the second fastest time of the year.

Kip Cheruiyot of Kenya outkicked Steve Scott in the stretch to win the 1,500 meters in 3:35.44.
