Ship’s Dangerous Cargo

AMSTERDAM —
A Dutch cargo ship bound for the Soviet Union returned to Rotterdam harbor Saturday for repairs after a toxic and explosive chemical it was carrying began leaking, the port authority said. The cargo included about 4,000 drums of the chemical epichlorhydrin, which gives off gas that can damage lungs and may cause cancer. It is also explosive.
