A man who lost his bid in the Supreme Court of Canada to stop his former girlfriend from having an abortion now has lost his job.

Jean-Guy Tremblay’s work as a technical service representative with an auto dealership in Montreal was not considered satisfactory, said his boss, Jean Gromyko.

Tremblay was dismissed Friday after a probationary employment of less than two months.

Gromyko said the decision had nothing to do with Tremblay’s legal battle, which ended with the Supreme Court overturning an injunction issued by the Quebec Court of Appeal to prevent the abortion.

By a unanimous 9-0 decision, the Supreme Court on Tuesday struck down the injunction.
