California Official Gets U.S. Agriculture Post

WASHINGTON —
Agriculture Secretary Clayton K. Yeutter on Tuesday named Daniel Haley, the No. 2 state agriculture official in California, as head of the Agricultural Marketing Service.
The service has 6,500 employees whose duties include setting commodity standards and grading farm products, buying food for federal feeding programs and monitoring producer-financed research and promotion programs for a number of commodities, including beef, cotton, eggs and dairy products.
